LIONS is the world's largest service organization with 1.4 million members in 200 countries. LIONS are volunteers who assist their area citizenry and are global leaders in community and humanitarian service.
The LIONS organization was founded in 1917 during WWI by Chicago business leader Melvin Jones, The symbol of the Lion stood for strength, courage, fidelity, and vital action. The L-I-O-N-S name represents:

In 1925, Helen Keller deemed the Lions to be the "Knights of the Blind" with a mission to eradicate blindness throughout the world and to aid those with vision loss.
